...The final special won't be shown for another year, and I know exactly what happens. In fact, I had a phone call this morning about casting it, and were after a couple of fantastic names for it, and one of those names is booked actually, but you'll discover who that is when we are filming it in May, because it will get out...

New New News!

Who will be the 11th Doctor? Well we know by now that David Tennant will be leaving at the end of the 2009 Christmas Special which will star Catherine Tate, John Simm and Bernard Cribbins but who else? Billie Piper? Perhaps he will meet Rose and the parallel version of himself?! What about River Song? Captain Jack, Martha, Sarah-Jane, Midshipman Frame?! Torchwood? Astrid? Who knows!

Russell T Davies says that next Christmas will be amazing, that dark forces are gathering, The Gate is waiting and life will never be the same again! He also says that the Easter special will be his wildet and wackiest adventure yet. Not only will he be travelling without a companion, he will be travelling without the TARDIS too! More news soon!

The Next Doctor News and more!

David Tennant will not be returning to play Hamlet before Christmas because of a back injury. He's going to have an operation for a slipped disc on Thursday, said his enforced absence was hugely disappointing. His understudy Edward Bennett, who received standing ovations on Monday and Tuesday, will continue to stand in. But where does that leave next years Doctor Who TV movies? Will Tennant be well and able enough to star in them? After all there is always a lot of action and running. Could this result in an early regeneration? Less action? Or Perhaps Tennant borrowing Davros's Chair?
Russell T Davies says... "This new Doctor is absolutely NOT a conman. I had to wrestle for a long time with bringing these two characters together. Specifically - why don't they recognise each other? The Doctor has clearly said in the past that he can sense other Time Lords, so that even the Master had to be hidden in human form. But then Time Crash came to my rescue - thank you, Steven Moffat! Because in that, the Fifth Doctor very clearly doesn't recognise the Tenth Doctor, even when he's standing in the TARDIS. Which then suggested to me that Time Lords are now very good at spotting each other.... except for future versions of themselves! Theres obviously some sort of Blinovitch Effect at work, or something. And that simple idea of Steven's opened up this whole plot for me and allowed me to write it. Of course, there's then the mystery of why David Morrisseys Doctor doesn't recognise the Tenth, but thats the point - as you'll see, the whole story focuses on that. What terrible things have happened, to make him forget?" RTD also confirms that next years second special will be shot outside the UK! Also, in a trailer on YouTube it shows David Morrisey reading a diary? Hmmm... perhaps the Doctor's diary like the one in the library.

The Next Doctor Broadcast Schedule

The Next Doctor will be broadcast on BBC1 on Christmas Day at 6.00PM-7.00PM. It will be followed on BBC3 by Doctor Who Confidential from 7.00PM-8.00PM and then the top 5 Doctor Who Christmas moments on BBC3 from 8.00PM-8.10PM. On New Years Day the Doctor Who Proms will be broadcast on BBC1 from 1.50PM-2.50PM. Anyone who misses these will be turned into steak pie, then fed to dogs. Happy Holidays!

The ________ D___________ __________

The Easter 2009 special will be broadcast on April 12th and the title will be revealed at the end of The Next Doctor. It will contain four words and one will start with D. We have come up with a suggested template as can be seen above. It may be called 'The Boogie Doctors Disco' or perhaps 'The Big Doctor's Brother' who knows? But there are rumours, rumours which suggest Paul McGann (the 8th Doctor) may be returning in a Time War special with VChristopher Ecclestone making a cameo appearance at the end after a regeneration!
Some of the words that will feature in the episode are: Chamer, Fly and Jewel. And the next special after that contains the words Emily, pipes, carrots, legend, gadget and concerto and the phrase "the map of the Water Snake Wormholes". So not long until The Next Doctor and the other specials. Looks very interesting

Extreme Edit of Journey's End

Journey's End was brutally hacked down by CBS on Friday. It lost 20 minutes of it's running time and was the worst cut episode ever in history. CBS did put a full version of the episode on their website but it is no doubt that this was due to advertisements. Many fans were angry after all of the departure scenes were cut. The bits in the TARDIS were cut. Davros's speech was cut. Bits with Jackie, Mickie and Sarah Jane were hacked to death, the lady in Germany was completely deleted and Rose left with the parallel Doctor after a brief line. And at the end all the scenes at the Noble's house were completely cut along with the final TARDIS scene. Terrible, absolutely terrible. Every episode is cut down in other countries to account for adverts but not 20 minutes. This is terrible along with the fact that CBS has never broadcast a christmas special.

Fantastic Journey's End Spoof!

This fantastic portrayal of events was created on deviant art and is fantastic! The episode would have been much better if that had happened! Also see extreme edit of Journey's End.

Steven Moffat to take over from Russell T Davies

Steven Moffat, 45, will be taking over the role of producer and head writer of Doctor Who next year. Writer of many Doctor Who episodes including The Empty Child, The Girl in the Fireplace and Silence in the Library.
It was announced after Russell T Davies decided to leave the show. He said in an interview with the BBC "Well the idea of a fifth series was tempting, but I think the show is in good hands with Steven"
Steven, who has already wrote the first episode of the fifth series (not due to be broadcast until April 2010!!!) will take over next July when the filming of the four specials has concluded.

The Next Doctor DVD Preview

Pictured above are 2 versions of The Next Doctor DVD. The first was the original version of the DVD. Spot the difference? If you look above David Morrissey's head you can see a hot air balloon in the background. This looks like it might be his TARDIS. Many internet forums have discussed this story and do believe it to be true. Perhaps he fixed his chaemeleon arch. The DVD is released Monday 19th January 2009 for £15.99 and will include 2 hours of special features! It will include the entire Doctor Who BBC Proms, Doctor Who Confidential and Music of the Spheres the 7 minute specially filmed scene.

Catherine Tate set to return

Catherine Tate, John Simm and Bernard Cribbins are all set to return in the Christmas 2009 special. We will report more on the story soon
